It was awarded the 2009 iF Seal of Outstanding Design for its design qualities of safety, comfort and practicality. The fine-spun merino fabric is luxuriously soft, comfortably lightweight and safe to use for babies with allergies, eczema and sensitive skin. Merino fabric has the remarkable natural ability to regulate body temperature to help prevent your baby from overheating. It captures and circulates air to insulate your baby when the room temperature falls, and releases excess body heat and moisture as the room temperature rises, to create the perfect safe micro-climate around their body. For this reason, the Cocooi newborn sleep sack is ideal to use in any season. Your newborn baby has the freedom to move naturally in their Cocooi sleep sack but they cannot slip underneath, nor wriggle out and wake uncovered and cold, as can happen with blankets. Parents get a good night's sleep with the peace of mind that their baby won't get too cold or too hot and their baby's head won't be covered. Promotes back sleeping; sleeveless for better air circulation; contoured bodice fits snugly around your baby's chest and the fabric stays clear of their face; reduced risk of overheating due to merino's natural body temperature-regulating capability. The innovative safety belt aperture allows the sleep sack to be worn safely in car or stroller, making it easy to transfer your newborn baby asleep to and from their crib. Fits newborn babies up to 3 months. Opens up flat for easy dressing. Unzips from the bottom for quick diaper changes. Machine washable. Can be tumble-dried. Contains no polyester. Naturally fire resistant. Can be worn with the Natural merino Cocooi Babywrap Swaddle and Cocooi Newborn Gown. | | | Features: | |

Thick, warm, high quality, highly recommendedApr 05, 2012
By muff I bought this together with the Cocooi newborn gown. Although I wouldn't necessarily recommend that other new parents buy the gown (see separate review), I absolutely LOVE this sleep sack!
PROS: - Thick, high quality wool - warm & soft (not scratchy at all like many other lower-quality wool products) - Merino wool helps baby to regulate temperature, does not facilitate overheating like polyester/synthetic materials - Easy to put on / take off - side/bottom zip goes most of the way around. You do have to guide baby's head and right arm through holes, but this is pretty easy and then the rest is closed with a zipper - Makes my baby look like a young Jedi master. It's adorable. When my husband dresses him for bed, he is always asking me "Where's his Jedi suit?"
CONS: - Care instructions are a bit impractical. It is labeled "gentle wool wash or hand wash / 30C (cold temperature)," and then confusingly both has the symbol for tumble dry low as well as the warning "DO NOT TUMBLE DRY." This is a pretty aggressive set of instructions for something worn (and spit up / pooped on daily) by a baby. I put it in the washer/dryer once and it came out fine, but most of the time I handwash it in warm water with Eucalan and air dry flat - it's been holding up well, but obviously this takes some time - Like all wool, smells a little bit, especially when wet - Expensive
We use this sleep sack every night when it's not in the wash, and are disappointed when we have to use other sleep sacks to tide us over. I highly recommend this to all new parents. It's expensive, but you'll use it almost nightly for the first 3 months of your baby's life.
Side note: I originally just bought the bigger Merino Kids sleepsack (labeled 0-2 years), thinking I could just use that from birth. I guess this was a stupid new parent idea, because as soon as I received it I realized a newborn would swim in it (think about it, it is sized to fit a 2-year-old). Am so glad now that I bought both - as soon as he outgrows this one, he can graduate to the larger one!
Thick sleep sackNov 05, 2011
By Jen I purchased a used cocooi sleep bag on Ebay for less than half the cost of a new one. I'm very impressed with the quality of the fabric and the craftsmanship. It is much thicker than the Cocooi Babywrap Newborn Baby Swaddle and Cap, 100% Merino, Natural Color. I'm sure this will hold up well for my children! I highly recommend this!

By minmin I love these! This is the third Merino Kids sleep product that I've purchased. I have the winter weight bag for my one year old and it's fantastic. I just had my second child this September and since I live in a cool climate, I decided to get this bag for my newborn. Since this bag has arrived, my little girl has been in it 24/7. I love that it keeps her warm and since she doesn't like to be swaddled and kicks off the wrapped blankets, this is a great option for keeping her warm day and night. I had a cashmere blanket for her, but it wasn't machine washable and this Merino Kids sack is, making it more practical, but not at the sacrafice of having a well made product that keeps her as warm as we are under our down comforters! These seem like a splurge initially, but they are well made and have so much value in keeping your child warm. Buy them for your first child and you will use them for your second and third and they will still be in great shape to hand down to a friend! Buy them now!!
